Welcome from the President

Club President Mark Prentice

Mr. Mark Prentice

On behalf of Lurgan Rugby Football Club, Co. Armagh, may I take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to visitors to our website.

We currently field 4 senior teams (3 male and 1 female). We also have youth teams and a vibrant mini rugby section who play under the umbrella of the Lurgan Tigers Youth Academy. Young players are the future of any club and at Lurgan we have been fortunate to see quite a number come through our underage sides and go on to represent the club at senior level.

I come to office at a challenging time with all rugby effectively stopped due to the Covid 19 Pandemic for the rest of 2020.

My first function as President was to attend the award of the Sport NI Project of the Year for all of Northern Ireland for the Club’s Peace IV Project – Building Positive Relations. This was a great achievement and follows the Club’s ABC Council senior club of the year award for 2020 and a SONI Real Rugby Hero’s award for the Club’s Covid 19 response where up to 130 households were supported over the first 12 weeks of lockdown.

Our grateful thanks go out to all our club sponsors, who’s generous support is vital as the club seeks to continue to grow, to develop its own home-grown players and strive for further success.

Please show your appreciation for the essential part the club sponsors play by supporting them whenever possible. There are numerous sponsorship opportunities available. Club sponsorship, pitch side advertising and match day sponsorship are just some of the ways you can play a part in supporting the club and Co. Armagh Rugby.

If you would be interested in becoming a part of the club as a player, coach, sponsor or supporter we would love to hear from you so please get in touch.

I look forward to making new acquaintances and renewing old friendships along the touchline when rugby recommences. So whether you haven’t been to Pollock Park before or haven’t been up to a game in a while you will be made more than welcome Covid restrictions permitting.
